Fiji-born Crusaders winger Sevuloni Reece has levelled his try-scoring record with former Hurricanes halfback TJ Perenara with 65 tries after scoring a try to help the Crusaders beat the Waratahs 48-33 in Sydney last night.

With two more rounds to go, another try will see Reece surpass Perenara and become the top try scorer of all time.

During a post-match interview, Reece says he felt good about getting that try.

He says it got to a point this season where he did not think he was going to score a try again.

Meanwhile, the Crusaders’ win last night was their first win in Sydney since 2021.

They led 31-7 at the break, but the Waratahs tried to make a comeback in the second half.

Though their comeback did not give them a win, it was enough to prevent the Crusaders from securing a bonus point win.

In another game last night, the Hurricanes broke the hearts of the Highlanders after star halfback Cam Roigard scored the winning try at the stroke of fulltime to give them a 24-20 win in Wellington.

In other matches today, the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will take on the Western Force at 3.35pm in Lautoka, Moana Pasifika will host the Blues at 7.05pm, and the Brumbies will play the Reds at 9.35pm.
