The determination to join the 100-game club for the Crusaders drove Fijian All Blacks prop George Bower to resign with the Crusaders for a further 2 years till 2027.

With 81 Super Rugby Pacific games under his belt since his debut in 2019 for the Crusaders, Bower says he wants to follow in the footsteps of some of the great Crusaders players’ which was the huge reason why he wanted to stay on.

He says it will be really special to reach that milestone because he has seen the centurions’ photos on the club’s wall every day and it rubs off on him as he wants to be on that wall too.

Crusaders coach Rob Penney was delighted with the news of Bower’s re-signing and says the 33-year-old is an outstanding individual who contributes to every area of the game for the Crusaders.

Penny says they are seeing continued development in Bower's rugby and believe the best is yet to come for him.

The extension will keep the Vagadaci, Ovalau man in contention for the next Rugby World Cup, though it has been three years since he last played an international test for the All Blacks.

Meanwhile, the Crusaders currently sits in second place on the overall Super Rugby Pacific standings with 37 points, and they will be on a bye this weekend.
