This means one PA/NFP/SODELPA coalition member voted for the FijiFirst Party nominee

Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu is the new Speaker of the Parliament.

He received 28 votes in a secret ballot.

National Federation Party Leader, Professor Biman Prasad nominated the former Minister and former Leader of the Opposition, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu.

Former President and former Speaker, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau was nominated as Speaker by FijiFirst MP, Alvick Maharaj.

Ratu Epeli got 27 votes.

The People’s Alliance/NFP/SODELPA coalition has 29 seats in total in parliament while the FijiFirst Party 26 seats.

This means one coalition member voted for the FijiFirst Party nominee.
