Tailevu chief, Ratu George Cokanauto Tu’uakitau has been laid to rest at the Suva Old Cemetery beside his late cousin Jack Costello.
They were brought up together at the chiefly house of Bau known as Naisogolaca.
The body of the late Ratu Tu’uakitau was escorted by his sons,nephews and nieces to the burial site.
The funeral service at Wesley Church at Butt Street this morning was attended by the paramount Chief of the Burebasaga Confederacy, Ro Teimumu Kepa, Roko Tui Bau Ratu Timoci Tavanavanua, Deputy Prime Minister, Professor Biman Prasad, Lau chief and former military officer, Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara, lawyer Graham Leung and the Prince and Princess of Tonga.
Ratu Tu’uakitau passed away last Wednesday.
