Rampur College athlete Lora Francesca stole the hearts of many when she won gold in the 3,000 metres girls' open grade final at the Suva Zone 2 competing without proper running shoes, and now Telecom Fiji Limited has stepped up to purchase the 14-year-old’s running shoes for the upcoming Coca-Cola Games next month.

Telecom Fiji CEO Charles Goundar says recognizing Francesca's exceptional determination and potential, they presented her with a gift certificate from JR White to purchase running shoes and additional gear for the competition finals.

He says Francesca's story is an inspiration, and they are honoured to play a small role in helping her achieve her dreams.

Goundar says they believe that investing in young athletes like Francesca is an investment in the future of Fiji.

He adds by supporting young athletes' development, they are nurturing a generation of passionate and dedicated individuals who will lead our nation to success.

TFL wishes Francesca all the best for the upcoming Fiji Finals.

fijivillage News had highlighted that despite running with only socks and no proper running shoes, Francesca's spirit was not deterred as she gave her best in the 3,000 metres girls' open grade final to win the first gold medal of the competition.

The 14-year-old finished with a time of 15.00.01 minutes.

The Coca-Cola Games will be held from the 2nd to the 4th of May at the HFC Bank Stadium.
