Raiwaqa murder accused awaits plea hearing on March 14th

Anare Vuli Cilicewa, the 24-year-old accused of murdering his 28-year-old de-facto partner in Raiwaqa, Suva in September last year will have his plea recorded in his next court appearance.

Cilicewa appeared this morning before Suva High Court judge, Justice Pita Bulamainaivalu to have his plea taken.

However his lawyer Monisha Singh from the Legal Aid Commission has requested additional time, stating that they need to review the third volume of documents today.

The documents were handed in court by lawyer Zenith Zunaid from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The accused is remanded in custody and the case has been adjourned to March 14th.
