Fiji Water Flying Fijians star outside back Semi Radradra will no longer take further part in the Flying Fijians’ remaining test matches after copping a 3-match suspension following his red card in Fiji’s historic 24-19 win over Wales in Cardiff on Monday.

Radradra was initially yellow carded by referee Luc Ramos following his shoulder-to-head, first-half collision with Welsh full-back Cameron Winnett before the decision was sent for review by the TMO bunker.

The foul play was soon upgraded to a red card, leaving Radradra cited.

Radradra appeared before an independent disciplinary committee via video link and was handed his suspension, which can be reduced to a two-match suspension if Radradra successfully completes World Rugby’s tackle school.

In a statement by the independent disciplinary committee, they say having accepted that the act of foul play justified the red card and by applying World Rugby’s sanctioning provisions, they have determined that the mid-range entry point of six weeks was appropriate.

They say the full 50 percent mitigation applied, based on a clean disciplinary record and has shown remorse, reducing the sanction to three weeks.

The suspension will see Radradra’s Autumn Nations Series campaign come to an end.

The committee says Radradra has additionally been given permission to apply to take part in World Rugby’s coaching intervention programme to substitute the final match of their sanction, which is aimed at modifying specific techniques and technical issues that contributed to the foul play.

Meanwhile, the Flying Fijians will take on Spain at 2am this Sunday in Valladolid, Spain.
