Ratu Kadavulevu School is set to commemorate it’s 100th Anniversary with a grand week-long celebration, uniting past and present students in a milestone event.

This event will be held in the first week of Term 3 from September 8th to the 15th.

RKS Old Students Association Chairman, Kemueli Naiqama, says various events will take place each day to bring together old scholars, former school principals, and current students in celebration of the school's 100 years.

Naiqama says the celebration will begin on Sunday with a service at the Centenary Church and on Monday there will be a march from the Flea Market to Albert Park, followed by other activities, and at 3pm, the school’s Annual General Meeting will take place.

The Chairman says on Tuesday, they will host a program called "Training and Investment Opportunity" from 5.30pm to 11pm at the Suva Civic Centre and old scholars who are struggling to find employment can attend various ministry sessions to receive guidance.

He adds on Wednesday, there will be a Wellness and Sports Day at Albert Park and at 3pm, a sports competition between RKS and Queen Victoria School will mbe held.

Naiqama also highlighted that on Thursday, they will begin with a traditional ceremony, providing a learning experience for current students about traditional culture, where the Vunivalu na Tui Kaba, Ratu Epenisa Cakobau, will be the chief guest.

After lunch, there will be a pass-out parade with the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Commander, Ro Jone Kalouniwai, as the chief guest.

The Chairman also says that Friday will be a feast day in different houses, where old scholars will discuss their plans and explore ways to contribute to the development of the school.

He adds on Saturday, they will have a dinner at the FMF Gymnasium, marking the house feast day, with live entertainment from bands such as Paradise Rootz, Delai Dokidoki, and Waikoula kei Tavua.

Naiqama adds the celebration will wrap up on Sunday with a church service at World Harvest Centre.
