Schools and rugby clubs from China, Japan, Wesley College in New Zealand and a French club have contacted Ratu Kadavulevu School directly in relation to contracting their players.

RKS Principal, Ilaisa Waqalala has confirmed to fijivillage News that these schools and clubs got in touch with the school who then contact the parents.

Waqalala confirms that these are also for players in the U15 to U17 as well and not just for the U18 rugby players.

When asked if the Fiji Rugby Union is involved in these negotiations, Waqalala says no, this is a direct contact between the clubs and the parents but says to get a release for these players they will have to get approval from the FRU.

Waqalala says this is not the first time this has been happening as RKS students have been going on these contracts from 2022 to last year.

Six RKS players will undergo a screening test by a French club at the Uprising Sports Centre in Pacific Harbour later today.
