Pacific Islands Forum Secretary General Henry Puna is positive that the meeting between Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and the Kiribati government will have a positive outcome.

Rabuka will be visiting the Kiribati today in his first official overseas visit after being elected as the Prime Minister on the 24th of December, 2022.

Puna says it is wonderful that Kiribati President Taneti Maamau and his officials are now welcoming the visit by the forum chair, and they are looking forward to that visit.

He says while talking with Rabuka, the Prime Minister is hopeful for a good outcome.

The Forum Secretary General says the indication from the Kiribati government to turn the visit into a State visit signals some positive outcomes.
