The Ba Golf Community has been commended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad for their efforts in promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy living through the 4 Men Ambrose Golf Tournament held in Ba.

Professor Prasad says it’s encouraging to see sports bringing people together and helping build community spirit.

He says sports create a sense of camaraderie, togetherness and teamwork.

The Deputy Prime Minister says that sports are also important for people’s health, especially as Fiji continues to face the growing challenge of non-communicable diseases.

Professor Prasad praised the organisers to keeping the sporting spirit alive in Ba, particularly highlighting the participation of young golfers and women in the tournament.

He further says that recreational sports play a vital role in fostering healthy lifestyles and community unity.

He says seeing young people involved in sports like golf is a great sign.

Meanwhile, the tournament which attracted golfers from across the region, aims to promote golf as a recreational sport and strengthen community engagement in Ba.
