Dr. Padma Lal

The late Professor Brij Lal’s ashes will be arriving to his home in Tabia, Labasa on the 25th February.

His widow Dr. Padma Lal says the interment or scattering of Professor Lal’s ashes in Tabia River will be preceded by a formal event at Tabia Sanatan College from 12.30pm to 2pm to remember the pre-eminent historian on Girmit and a true son of Fiji.

She says friends and the general public are invited to the formal event organised with the assistance of Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister and the Leader of the National Federation Party Professor Biman Prasad and his staff.

Dr. Lal adds they are extremely grateful to Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and his new PA-NFP-SODELPA Government for enabling them to finally bring Professor Lal back to his beloved Tabia, after being denied to do so by the previous Bainimarama Government even after his passing on 25th of December, 2021.
