A pregnant woman in her 30s was allegedly assaulted and struck with an iron rod by her brother following a heated argument about their compound in Nabua yesterday while a woman in her late 20s was seriously injured after she was allegedly stabbed several times by her de-facto partner in Nadi.

Police say they are currently searching for the man who allegedly assaulted his sister in Nabua.

The Nabua woman is currently admitted at the CWM Hospital.

Police say in the Nadi case, the suspect who is also in his late 20s is alleged to have forcefully entered the woman’s home yesterday morning, breaching a standing Domestic Violence Restraining Order.

They say he then allegedly stabbed the woman several times over a dispute the two had about the victim socializing with her friends.

The suspect is in custody at the Nadi Police Station while the woman has been transferred to the Lautoka Hospital.
