The 21-day Powerade National Torch Relay for the 2024 Coca-Cola Games has started at the Coca-Cola factory Laucala Beach this morning and will leave for Taveuni this afternoon.

The torch will leave Narain Jetty in Suva at 4pm where it will visit South Taveuni Secondary School, Holy Cross College, Bucalevu Secondary School and Niusawa Secondary School tomorrow before it returns to Suva.

While officiating at the launching ceremony, Coca-Cola's Marketing Manager, Lawrence Tikaram says the torch relay is a symbol of national unity and also a symbol of the hopes and aspirations that students around Fiji will carry for the next 21 days of the torch relay around Fiji. Tikaram says they will cover 86 schools.

The launching today was attended by sponsors which included CK’s Mega Bargain, Digicel, Fiji Gas, Fiji Water, and Pacific Energy and also two athletes each from the defending girls and boys divisions Adi Cakobau School and Marist Brothers High School respectively.

The Coca-Cola Games will be held from the 2nd to the 4th of May at the HFC Bank Stadium.
