Energy Fiji Limited has confirmed that power has been restored in areas affected by power outages in the Central and Western Divisions this morning.

EFL says there was heavy lightning and thunder activity at Monasavu and a strike on the transmission line caused power supply disruption.

They say the 132,000 volts from Wailoa to Cunnigham Road and the Wailoa to Vuda transmission lines tripped, isolating the electricity supply to parts of the Central and Western Division of Viti Levu.

EFL says their team worked really hard to get the power supply back to affected areas by 8.30 this morning.
