Police are urging members of the public to talk about their issues rather than resorting to drastic means as a solution or way out after rescuing a woman in her 20’s from an alleged suicide attempt in Nausori this morning.

Police say a report was received of an unknown person trying to attempt suicide and a team from the Nausori Police Station was deployed.

An officer managed to rescue her with the help of two others.

Chief of Operations ACP Abdul Khan says this is another unfortunate case, and is urging people to talk about issues, or seek help from professionals.

ACP Khan says mental health issues should not be taken lightly and is also calling on family and loved ones to keep a look out for noticeable changes in behaviour and reach out before tragedy strikes.

Please call Lifeline Fiji on 1543 or Empower Pacific on 5626 if you are facing any issues and need to talk about it.
