Police officers serving in the Southern Division have been reminded that poor decision-making has seen some of their officers sent home.

While speaking to the officers during their divisional parade at the Nasova ground, Divisional Police Commander Southern (DPC/S) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Wate Vocevoce says before they make any drastic decisions, they should first think of their family, community and all those that have sworn oath to protect and serve.

SSP Vocevoce acknowledged the officers for the work done during the festive season and urged his team to aim for perfection and take pride in their work.

He also urged everyone to have a common goal and operate as a team in order to serve the community better.

The Divisional Police Commander Southern says customer service is not a department, but it should be a mindset that all of them must adopt because professionalism must be at the forefront of their action.

He reminded everyone that prompt attendance to reports and giving timely feedback to complainants are all part of professionalism.

He adds that they should continue to show members of the communities that they are committed to solving crime.

SSP Vocevoce says these actions might seem minor, but their impact on their relationship with the community is profound.

He adds he specifically chose to have the Divisional Parade in Nasova even though it wasn't in their area of operations.

He says this is where their journey began and the home of the brave, where many of them were brought to on the first day they marched into the Academy.

He further says they selected this work because they wanted to help their family and assist the community.
