Police officer appears in court for alleged hit and run accident along Milverton Road

A Police officer who is alleged to be the driver involved in the hit and run accident along Milverton Road over the weekend, appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court today.

Tavinesh Naicker is charged with one count of dangerous driving occasioning actual bodily harm and one count of failure to comply with requirements following an accident.

Naicker has been released on bail and will reappear in court on the 26th of October.

Police say the 23 year old victim is still admitted at the CWM Hospital.

Police say initial information gathered on the vehicle registration had been ruled out, however, investigators managed to track down the same vehicle seen in the CCTV footage with a different registration.
