Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu

Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu says they are looking at increasing their visibility in Fiji waters and by formalising their use of Draunibota jetty, they will now be able to upgrade it and improve their service delivery.

He further says they will be able to show their service delivery is faster when they have the proper facilities.

Tudravu made these comments while signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the Fiji Police Force and the Ministry of Fisheries which was to formalise the use of the Draunibota jetty located in Lami by Police.

Permanent Secretary for Fisheries, Pene Baleinabuli says by formalizing this partnership, Police can ensure they upgrade the premises to elevate and improve the quality and timeliness of their services to Fiji.

Draunibota jetty which falls under Ministry of Fisheries is the main headquarters for Police Waterpol Division.

It is also the base for the maintenance and repair of all police water vessels.

Police say they have multi million dollar assets in the form of water vessels and as they are also looking to procure more it is important they have proper facilities.
