Police say they are following several possible leads in relation to the murder of a Year 9 student in Labasa.

They say investigators continue to gather information.

Police had earlier said people heard the girl scream for help last Wednesday night and upon checking on her, the landlord discovered her lying near the front door with visible stab wounds.

The girl was home alone as her mother was yet to return from work.
