Police are waiting for the post mortem results and outcome of the investigation before making a decision in regards to death of the 12-year-old student of Sabeto, Nadi after falling out of a moving carrier.

This was after fijivillage News asked who will be held responsible for the death of the 12-year-old.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu says it is alleged that he was amongst other youths traveling along Natadola and seated on the back tray of the carrier.

Driu says they drove through potholes, which had caused the student to fall out of the moving vehicle and landing on the tar-seal road.

He says the boy was rushed to the Sigatoka Hospital and later passed away on Wednesday.

Driu says despite their calls for safety on the roads during the festive season and Police presence on the roads, incidents as such happen because drivers are not responsible enough.

He says Police cannot be everywhere on the roads to continuously remind drivers of their safety.
