The Registrar of Political Parties Mohammed Saneem has de‑registered the People’s Democratic Party with immediate effect for breach of the Political Parties Registration, Conduct, Funding & Disclosures Act.

All political parties were required to submit their Statement of Assets and Liabilities to the Registrar of Political Parties by 14th October 2018, which is at least 30 days before the General Election.

The People’s Democratic Party has to date failed to submit its statement of assets and liabilities.

He says in compliance with the requirements under section 25 of the Political Parties Registration, Conduct, Funding & Disclosures Act he has de‑registered People’s Democratic Party.
