Questions are being raised by people in parts of Suva on how and why some roads repaired just a few months to a year ago already have a number of potholes and why properly sealed roads are dug up by some service providers and not sealed again.

Drivers have highlighted concerns about Tubou Street in Samabula, Mead Road opposite Nabua Secondary School, Daniva Road Valelevu, Tamavua Village and Jerusalem Road.

A driver that did not wish to be named said these roads were just done a couple of months ago and as soon as there is continuous heavy rain, potholes start appearing.

He asks if this is wastage of taxpayers money due to the constant maintenance of the roads.

Some are also asking about the standard of the materials being used.

A driver says not only are these potholes damaging their vehicles but they can cause accidents as drivers swerve to the opposite lane to avoid the potholes.

Some sealing works are being done today but it seems that the potholes are appearing quicker than they are able to patch them.

We have sent questions to the Fiji Roads Authority and are awaiting their response.
