A resident of Johnson Road in Lautoka, Sanjay Chandra says parts of Lautoka are flooded as heavy rain continues from this morning.
Chandra says flood waters entered some homes in Matawalu Village at about 4.30pm today.
He says several culverts from Lautoka City to his home in Johnson Road were also flooded at about 5pm.
Police say Drasa, Vunato Settlement, Lovu, Vitogo and Naviyago areas are flooded and water level is rising.
Lautoka Police officers evacuated families from these areas this afternoon.
If you are living in a flood prone area, then please take precaution now and move to higher ground or to the nearest evacuation centre.
