The Parliament delegation in Koror, Palau led by the Speaker of Parliament, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu and Leader of Opposition Bloc 15, Inia Seruiratu to attend the 4th Pacific Islands Parliamentary Group (PIPG) Conference that begins today.

The Fijian diaspora in Palau warmly welcomed the delegation last night at the West Plaza Hotel.

Led by Dr Seleima Malani Lalabalavu, the diaspora, made up of nurses, lawyers, engineers, statisticians and others converged at the hotel after work to welcome the delegation.

Ratu Naiqama while thanking them says Fijians overseas always portray who we are, and our culture and tradition is still intact wherever we go.

The programme also included a 'talanoa' session where discussions centred around FNPF voluntary membership; unprecedented scourge of drug-related issues in Fiji; national health insurance; and others.

The ‘talanoa’ session was fruitful with Ratu Naiqama and Leader of Opposition Bloc 15, Inia Seruiratu shedding light on the discussion points.

The Speaker assured the diaspora that their issues would be brought back to the Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka.
