As we enter the Christmas season, there has been an increase in crimes, missing children, and illegal activities.

Methodist Church of Fiji Deputy General Secretary, Reverend Doctor Anil Reuben, in his Christmas message, has emphasized the importance of parents closely monitoring their children and being attentive at all times.

Reverend Rueben says during these busy and challenging times, parents need to nurture their children, remain vigilant, monitor their daily activities during the school holidays, and prioritize faith over parties.

He says Christmas is a sign of unity, love, and care for all denominations, as we share the love of God with everyone.

Reverend Rueben also highlighted that Christmas is about embodying the gifts of God’s love by sharing and embracing one another as children of God, as we are all created in His image.

He also reminds Christians not to lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas: celebrating the birth of Jesus. He adds that it is also a time to reflect on His coming to save us and provide hope and salvation for eternal life.

Reverend Rueben also says that people of different faiths, including Islam, Hinduism, and Christianity, come together to celebrate Christmas.

He encourages everyone to focus on Jesus rather than on worldly distractions.
