Queen Victoria School Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) President, Filimoni Vosarogo has expressed his disappointment over the statement released by the Permanent Secretary for Education saying that the PTFA has no role to play in the administration of the school.

Vosarogo says the PTFA body is a support body and the largest stakeholder in the school.

He adds that as a support group they do not seek to administer the school operations as the PS for Education have stated.

Vosarogo says they have always respected the line of authority of the PS as the School Manager and the Principal as the head of the school.

He says this is the third principal they have had to work with since 2019.

He believes that their relationship with each of them has always been cordial and mutual.

The PTFA President further says that his post on their private forum was to inform the parents and guardians as visiting Sunday was coming up so that they know who to go to in case they needed to consult with the head of school.

Vosarogo says the Permanent Secretary for Education’s accusation against him saying he has caused anxiety amongst parents and students is misleading. He says her timing of the suspension has brought anxiety to the parents and students.

Vosarogo says they respect the process of the Ministry from when the principal was notified and will wait for their decision.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has suspended the principal pending investigations after reports were made by students. The Vice Principal has taken over the administrative duties of the school.
