Pacific Specialist Healthcare (PSH Hospitals) has reached another major medical milestone with the successful completion of Fiji’s first mitral bioprosthetic valve replacement surgery at its Nadi facility.

The life-saving operation was performed on Ravindra Karan of Yalalevu Ba, who is now on the road to recovery with a renewed sense of hope and strength.

The procedure involved replacing a damaged mitral valve in the heart with a bioprosthetic valve, which is made from animal tissue and designed to improve heart function and blood flow.
