The Pacific Theological College unveiled a groundbreaking book titled The 'Whole of Life' Way - Unburying Vakatabu Philosophies and Theologies for Pasifika Development which features 15 compelling chapters written by renowned authors, philosophers, and wisdom holders from Fiji and the Pasifika region.

The book is edited by Upolu Luma Vaai and Aisake Casimira.

While speaking during the launch, Deputy Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum, Esala Nayasi, who was the guest speaker, emphasized the significance of strategic policy development and implementation in the Pacific region.

He focused on inclusive growth and financial inclusion, highlighting the potential of private-public partnerships and the role of communication in achieving sustainable development.

Nayasi also discussed the importance of personal practice and experience in shaping one's consciousness, as well as the role of faith and independence in this process.

Reverend Professor Dr. Upolu Vaai, Principal of the Pacific Theological College, stated that this timely publication delves into the philosophies of restraint and mutual contradictions that define Pasifika's rich ethical and spiritual heritage.

The authors critically examine societal frameworks influenced by Western philosophical traditions, questioning their relevance and purpose in contemporary Pasifika societies.

Vaai emphasized the need to revitalize these philosophies and theologies to promote sustainable development in communities.

He also stressed the importance of understanding household findings to ensure inclusive and effective policies.

The 'Whole of Life' Way - Unburying Vakatabu Philosophies and Theologies for Pasifika Development encourages readers to rethink society by embracing a 'whole of life' consciousness that fosters resilient, community-based development.

It explores the relevance of Pasifika ethics in addressing development, human, and ecological relations and offers a profound and transformative relational understanding of life.
