112 Public Rental Board tenants have been served with eviction notices because they do not qualify to live in those flats.

This has been confirmed by Minister for Local Government and Housing Premila Kumar who says their household income is much higher.

Families whose annual income is $16,500 or less are eligible for PRB flats.

Kumar says 30 of them have already moved out because they understand that they do not qualify.

She says they want to be fair to people because it has come to their knowledge that some families have been living there for almost 50 years.

Kumar says the flats are given to families on subsidized rates, which simply means that they try and save money and move out when they have enough savings.
