Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama stresses that people have to stay indoors at home or in evacuation centres and wait for Severe Tropical Cyclone Harold to pass.

The centre of Category 4 Cyclone Harold which is now located 115 kilometres South of Nadi, is expected to pass over Kadavu this afternoon.

Expect destructive winds, continuous heavy rain and widespread flooding.

Speaking from his home, Bainimarama says all roads in Viti Levu can only be accessed by essential workers.

He says no one should be out unnecessarily.

Bainimarama is calling on vendors trying to sell produce to go home.

The Prime Minister calls on people to be mindful as there is a lot of flying debris and many areas are flooded.

He says people should ensure they are safe.
