Distribution of relief supplies to the villagers of Ono-i-Lau

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and his delegation arrived in Ono-i-Lau this morning and have begun tour of the Lau Group and Kadavu.

Bainimarama distributed relief supplies to the villagers of Nukuni in Ono-i-Lau which includes tents, books, chainsaws, cooking stoves, hygiene kits and food rations.

The Prime Minister was accorded a traditional welcoming ceremony by the villagers of Nukuni village.

He expressed his gratitude to the people of Ono-i-Lau for the kind gesture shown to the government delegation visiting the island.

Bainimarama had the opportunity to speak to civil servants serving on the island and thanked them for their commitment towards providing services to the people on the island.

He also visited Ono-i-Lau District school, Ono-i-Lau health centre and the government quarters on the island.

Bainimarama also visited Doi village this afternoon and will leave for Vatoa Island this evening.
