Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s coach Ben Gollings has revealed that he is looking to get some overseas-based players into the squad as he looks to develop a formidable side for this year’s Paris Olympics.

Gollings says for him as a coach, it is going to be a challenge to try and secure the services of those players especially getting them released from their respective clubs overseas. He says communications are well ahead and they will be looking to manage that throughout this season.

He adds apart from that, there are some local players that he and his selection team are looking at and will be monitoring in the remaining HSBC SVNS Series tournaments leading up to the Olympics.

The Fiji 7s side will field a shadow team for this week’s McDonald’s Fiji’s Coral Coast 7s tournament that kicks off today and will be known as the Fiji Babaas.

This will help them prepare for the upcoming Perth 7s tournament next Friday to Sunday.

Fiji is in Pool C in the Perth 7s alongside New Zealand, France and Samoa.
