445 students from 21 schools in Rakiraki who were impacted by flooding caused by TC Ana have received stationery packs from FRIEND Fiji.

This is after TISI Sangam conducted an assessment for their schools and reached out to other schools to help students in need.

Floodwaters had destroyed school items bought by parents in many communities.

21 school managements worked together and put a request to FRIEND Fiji through TISI Sangam.

FRIEND CEO, Sashi Kiran and TISI Sangam Secretary-General Damend Gounder and the CEO of TISI Sangam, Jai Narayan travelled to Rakiraki to hand over these packs to school management representatives.

According to FRIEND Fiji, TISI Sangam is also collecting information from schools in Ba and Labasa and are currently working on ensuring that families impacted are supported in being able to send their children to school.
