Over 25,000 people to benefit from newly opened Nakasi Health Centre

More than 25,000 people in the wider Nakasi area will now get state of the art medical treatment after the new $6.7 million Nakasi Health Centre was opened this morning.

It will be staffed by two doctors and eight nurses.

The Nakasi Health Centre has a Family Planning Clinic, Maternal Child Health Clinic, a Dental Unit and a Pharmacy.

It has an Integrated Management Child Unit where children under 5 are seen.

It also has three consultation rooms, a treatment room and also a room dedicated for foot care.

The new Nakasi Health Centre also has a Laboratory, an X Ray Unit and an Emergency Room.

The facility also has a 100 seat General Outpatient Department waiting area.


Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and Health Minister Rosy Akbar

While opening the facility, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said this investment will payoff for decades to come.

He also took aim at some politicians calling their promises a disaster.

The Nakasi Health Centre is open from 8am to 4.30pm from Mondays to Thursdays.

On Fridays, it is open from 8am to 4pm.
