More than 1,000 students with disabilities and those whose parents have disabilities have received back-to-school assistance packs from New Vision of Fiji, supported by the Canadian Government.

Chief Executive Officer, Rajnel Prasad says last year, they helped about 20 students and this year through the $17,000 support from the Canadian Government they managed to surpass that number.

Prasad says they have been doing this for the past two years, where they provide packs containing school uniforms, sandals, a school bag and general stationery.

Prasad says some parents and children were overwhelmed with the support as assisting over 1000 students is a great achievement for them and it motivates them to do better.

The CEO adds that they assist students all over Fiji and not only from the main two islands.
