More than 1,000 students will be taking part in the two day Fiji Primary Schools Athletics Tuckers Ice Cream Games at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
Primary School Athletics President, Patrick Bower confirmed that a total of 26 districts will be participating, with 142 events scheduled over the two days.
He also highlighted that one school will be travelling from outside Fiji which is Wallis and Futuna to be part of the competition.
Fiji Sports Council CEO, Gilbert Vakalalabure says Tribal Risk Fiji will be conducting trials to strengthen security measures for the upcoming two-day event.
Vakalalabure says the aim is to ensure the safety of everyone participating as well as spectators attending the competition.
He says safety remains a top priority, and they want to make sure all security protocols are thoroughly tested and effective before the event begins.
Meanwhile, Tim Smith Head of Marketing at Goodman Fielder says the company is proud to support the event once again.
He says they are committed to nourishing families and uplifting communities, and believe strongly in the power of sports to unite people and inspire greatness among young athletes.
Smith adds that Goodman Fielder is delighted to contribute to an event that not only showcases talent but also builds confidence and encourages healthy competition among primary school students.
The Primary School Athletics will be held next Thursday and Friday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
