General Manager Darren Shaw.

195 staff of the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort are currently employed due to local tourism with most of them working for five days a week.

General Manager Darren Shaw says many staff work in different fields such as grounds and landscaping during the weekdays and spend the weekend doing other work such as housekeeping.

Shaw says the “Love our Locals” campaign has been a great success so far and has been critical in providing employment for a number of workers in the industry as well as providing locals with heavily discounted offers for high quality accommodation and services.

He says the recent school holidays was very helpful and on some weekends they have been selling over 200 rooms.

Shaw expects local tourism to be a strong part of their business until mid 2021 and hopes the Bula Bubble is up and running by then.

He expects local promotions to strongly feature for all of 2021 in one form or another.
