After achieving their goal of making it into the top 8 for the HSBC SVNS World Series Championship Final in Los Angeles that kicks off this weekend, the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side has shifted their focus to their work-ons from the Hong Kong and Singapore 7s that they could fine-tune, add some detail around and then get ready for this Championship final.
Coach Richard Walker says it is obvious that the World Series champion has already been decided, but the last tournament of the World Series is the championship tournament, so it's a winner-takes-all.
Walker says this Los Angeles 7s, everyone starts on equal terms, and the winner will be the eventual champion of the World Series just from this last event.
Walker says they are also focusing a lot on the defensive side since they got back from Hong Kong and Singapore.
He says he has reminded the players that he does not need to teach the players how to attack, as they already know how to attack.
He adds they are the best in the team when there's a turnover, when they have the ball in hand, so they will just concentrate on detail on the defensive side.
Walker says they need to make sure that they can shut down the edge attack as those teams have.
