Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa says the opposition should not think that they are the only voices that carry the dreams, voices and aspirations of the iTaukei.

Vuniwaqa says she has been in parliament since 2014 and she has heard the lies and fear-mongering tactics by members of the opposition using iTaukei land as a tool to bring division amongst Fijians.

She says they heard it today from SODELPA MP Niko Nawaikula.

SODELPA MP Niko Nawaikula had said that he gets angry everytime people blame the natives of this country and say they are lazy because of all the land lying idle.

He says people do not understand that the way they live is sustainable and they do not take more than they should from the land.

Nawaikula also said that it is a shame that the indigenous members of the government do not understand this.
