One soccer player tests positive for marijuana use at Day 1 of Punjas BOG

One soccer player tested positive yesterday for using marijuana to enhance his performance in the Punjas BOG at Churchill Park.

Fiji Football Association's CEO, Mohammed Yusuf says the player is a repeat offender and will be suspended from all levels of soccer for three years.

24 players were tested yesterday for the use of marijuana, methamphetamine and cocaine.

He says 23 results have returned negative and they will be sending the samples for further testing.

He says the player that has tested positive will be informed first before other necessary action is taken.

More tests are expected today.
