Olympics Swimming: USA wins 4x100m Medley relay final, set world record

Team USA’s women finished the 4x100m Medley relay final in style as they won a gold and have set a World Record this morning.

The team comprised of Regan Smith, Lilly King, Gretchen Walsh and Torri Huske who set a time of 3:49.63.

The American team broke Australia’s previous World Record by over three-quarters of a second, and also avenged their second place finish to the Aussies at Tokyo 2020.

In other results, Sarah Sjoestrom won gold for Sweden in the 50m Freestyle final, Bobby Finke won gold for USA 1500m Freestyle final while China won gold in the Men’s 4x100m Medley Relay final.

Meanwhile, China is leading the Olympic tally with 19 gold, 15 silver and 11 bronze followed by USA with 18 gold, 26 silver and 25 bronze, is France third with 12 gold and 14 silver and 17 bronze while Australia is fourth with 12 gold, 10 silver and 7 bronze.
