The USA men’s basketball side claimed a comfortable 122-87 win over Brazil in the fourth quarter final of the Paris Olympics basketball competition this afternoon to set up a semi final showdown against Serbia this Friday.

Despite the win, they are also faced with a setback after star forward LeBron James is in doubt for the semi finals following a face injury he suffered during the match.

James’ further participation in the competition will be determined soon.

The Americans dominated the first quarter 33-21 and the second quarter 30-15 before Brazil came back to take out the 3rd quarter 31-35.

USA bounced back and took out the 4th quarter 28-16 for the win.

The Americans will take on Serbia at 7am Friday in the second semi final.

In the first semi final, France will play Germany at 3.30am Friday.

Meanwhile, the Women’s basketball quarter finals will begin tonight with Serbia taking on Australia at 9 tonight, Spain will take on Belgium at 12.30am, Germany will play France at 4am tomorrow and Nigeria will battle the USA at 7.30am tomorrow.
