Occupational Health and Safety Inspector, Ashneel Nath who is charged with one count of manslaughter arising from a breach of duty in relation to the death of a 21-year-old woman who fell from a ferris wheel in Suva in June 2023, has been granted bail.

Nath appeared before Suva Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne this afternoon.

State lawyer Unal Lal did not object to bail but asked the court if strict restrictions be applied on his bail.

Magistrate Somaratne granted bail and told Nath to surrender all travel documents, not to interfere with the witnesses, and not to re-offend.

Nath's lawyer has surrendered his passport to the court.

The case will be called again on the 21st of November in the Suva High Court.

Meanwhile, Police are working to locate the second accused.
