The Fiji Water Flying Fijians were made to pay for their poor discipline and poor game structure as Scotland ran riot at home with a 57-17 win in Murrayfield this morning.

Fiji were reduced to 13 men in the first 14 minutes of the match after veteran halfback Frank Lomani and centre Apisalome Vota both received yellow cards in the 4th minute and 14th minute respectively.

Scotland capitalised on their advantage in numbers and scored 4 quick tries and 3 conversions in the first 20 minutes of the match through Kyle Rowe, Graham Darcy and Huw Jones to lead 26-0.

Fiji scored an unconverted try to Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula before Scotland slotted another penalty to extend their lead to 29-5.

Ratu Meli Derenalagi scored Fiji’s second try at the stroke of halftime as Scotland held a comfortable 29-10 lead at the break.

Fiji started the second half strongly with a try to captain Tevita Ikanivere in the 49th minute, but Scotland came back and shut Fiji down with 4 more tries through Darcy, Duhan van der Merwe and Jones.

Scotland winger Darcy was named the player of the match after scoring 4 tries in the match.

The Flying Fijians now turn their focus to their next match against Wales next Sunday at the Millennium Stadium.
