Headquarters of the suspended SODELPA party

There is still no resolution found in relation to the suspended SODELPA after they were suspended by the Registrar of Political Parties, Mohammed Saneem for 60 days on May 26th after breaching the Political Parties Act.

The groups within the suspended SODELPA are still unable to come up with solutions to have a Management Board appointed under their recognized constitution, and then have a General Assembly to appoint the executives.

The only person who can call the management board and get things moving is Vijay Singh who is the Vice President however there are no clear indications on what is happening.

The groups within the suspended party say they will not say anything publicly, however moves are underway in the different groups to get the meetings going under their recognized constitution. With revelations that there are about 6 versions of the constitution, some of the people say they also want to establish which constitution they have to follow.

Sitiveni Rabuka has referred all questions to Vijay Singh.

We have contacted Vijay Singh. He is yet to comment on their next move to ensure that they fix the suspension and avoid deregistration.
