Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem and SODELPA’s Faith Grace

There is no legal deadline for a manifesto.

This was highlighted by Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem while responding to a question by SODELPA’s Faith Grace about party manifestos at the Your Vote Matters Intergenerational Panel Talanoa at USP.

Grace had asked Saneem when is the last day for parties to submit their manifestos before they can campaign.

While responding to Grace, Saneem says one of the things with introducing the campaign period was to promote political parties to release their campaign materials earlier but they did not.

Saneem says they are strictly monitoring promises being made by political parties and they will not hesitate to question the party or candidates to justify their funding as required by law.
