Fijians do not have to worry about medical supplies and there are no disruptions to the supply chain.

This has been confirmed by Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission CEO Joel Abraham who says initially there was a fear with medical supplies if New Zealand went into a total lockdown and there was zero business operations.

Abraham says in response to this, companies in Fiji went ahead and secured more than four tonnes of medical supplies to ensure that Fiji has enough stock.

He says at one point they only had supplies till the end of this month but since the restrictions in New Zealand is being eased slowly and supply chains are opening up again, there is no issue of shortages.

Abraham says they have spoken to the President of the Fiji Pharmaceutical Society, Reemal Chand who says that some companies in the country even did air freight to ensure that they get medication in early.
