Around 10 people will directly gain employment following the opening of the Triton Kana Vinaka fastfood outlet along Ratu Dovi Road in Nadera.

The owner of the outlet is FijiFirst parliamentarian Sachida Nand.

While speaking at the launch, Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says small businesses like these are contributing significantly to the Fijian economy.

Sayed-Khaiyum says this is why they announced a $200 million package for micro, small and medium businesses in the budget and they have seen a huge uptake of that.

He says when the pandemic started some of the larger businesses held back to see what was happening but the smaller businesses took the higher risk.

Sayed-Khaiyum says a good businessman who recognizes and opportunity and invests when others do not will reap the most benefit.

The Attorney General adds there has been a lot of pick up in the economy when our borders re-opened on the 1st of the month and they now expect it to move at a much faster rate.
