New Deans U18 champion to be crowned after QVS and Natabua qualify for the final

New Deans U18 champion to be crowned after QVS and Natabua qualify for the final

There will be a new Vodafone Super Deans under 18 champion crowned this year after defending champions were bundled out of the semi final by Natabua High School 29-20 this afternoon.

It is also a historic moment for Natabua as they reached their first ever Super Deans final.

The game went down to the wire as Natabua held a slight 24-20 lead before they scored the winning try two minutes from full time to seal the game for them.

The Westerners played some spectacular rugby and also capitalised on Marist's mistakes holding on to their defence tremendously to dethrone the defending champions.

Natabua will take on Queen Victoria School in the U18 final next Saturday.

QVS drew with Grammar 14-all in the first semi final, however, the win was given to QVS as they scored the first points of the match.

Looking at other results,

In the U14 grade, Marist beat RKS 26-15 and Suva Grammar thrashed Lelean 19-0.

In the U15 grade, RKS defeated Grammar 17-14 and QVS lost to Marist 24-0.

In the U16 grade, QVS defeated Marist 19-7 while RKS beat Natabua High School 18-10.

In the U17 grade, RKS thumped Marist 25-8 and MGM beat QVS 15-11.

In the U19 grade, RKS thrashed Lomary 22-3 and QVS beat Lelean 15-12.

The Vodafone Super Deans and the Weetbix Raluve Trophy semi finals are held at the HFC Bank Stadium.
